Pre-Departure and Departure
As you pack and prepare to leave, take a look at our Living in Bali Guide for information and suggestions on what to bring to Bali and what to leave behind.
When you book your initial Bali accommodation (see the Living in Bali Guide for more information), you can ask for some pantry basics and fresh produce to be purchased and ready for your arrival. Most accommodation providers/landlords are very happy to help.
Organise your Bali airport transport - the School's bus service, the award-winning BioBus team can be there to welcome you at the airport and get you to your accommodation in comfort - biobus@greenschool.org . Alternatively, your accommodation/landlord will likely be able to help with transport or you can use Gocar, Grab.
Double check that you have all your usual travel documents and any important copies or original documents you may need such as birth certificates, medical records etc
Get some money changed to Indonesian Rupiah or check that your credit/debit cards will allow withdrawal in Indonesia.
Consider the airport assistance service which we can organise for you and you will be fast-tracked through airport transit (see the visa and travel section).
Arrival in Bali and School
If you have booked the airport assistance service they will meet you and guide you through the check-points and luggage collection.
Look for your transport connection (usually holding a sign). A tip for any transport provider or delivery person is very welcome and normal in Indonesia.
Many villas will provide contact information for staff who can deliver food for you. Other stores offer online delivery.
Gojek is Indonesia’s delivery service - they can bring just about anything to your doorstep. You can download the app and order take-out, groceries and other household supplies easily. Check the Living in Bali Guide for more details and recommendations on fresh produce suppliers etc.
Our community is very warm and welcoming. Once you arrive you will become connected quickly. If you need help with anything, please put the word out via your child's class whatsapp groups (we will connect you to the group closer to the first day of school) or on facebook and the community will support you.
