We understand that moving to Bali, Indonesia, can be a challenge in terms of navigating travel and visas. We've all been there! To help you plan and prepare, we have put together a timeline of when it is advisable to have key things done. Details can change from time to time, and we keep this site updated as best we can, so please reach out to our Admissions Team at admissions@greenschool.org. if there's anything you are unsure about.
Please note, Green School Bali is not a travel and visa agency, but we do help support enrolled families. Please see suggested timings on where to start on your journey.
The School organises the issuance of your enrolled child's student visa. We work with Ganesha Visa Services for our student visas. Ganesha can also advise and manage the processing of visas for parents/guardians or other non-enrolled siblings or family members. Read more about Visas in our Visa Steps & Process
Ensure that passports have plenty of empty pages and are not near expiration. Your visa agent can advise you on what exactly is required regarding passports
Pay tuition and fees by the deadline to avoid late fees, delays in visa processing or loss of enrolment place
Read the Living in Bali Guide and Community Sustainability Guide for detailed information on life as a Green School family
Join our Zoom Parent information sessions as an opportunity to hear updates and ask questions in a live discussion
Keep up-to-date with any emailed information from our Admissions and Visa Teams
We recommend researching and securing some temporary housing/accommodation, ahead of viewing and settling on a home once you are here in Bali.
Research and buy travel/health insurance for the family
Fill prescription medications for anything that may be difficult to source in Bali
Join Green School Bali New Families Facebook group to connect with other families
Join Green School Bali Community Housing Facebook group to start exploring some options - noting that we recommend taking a shorter-term option to begin with. We do not recommend securing anything long-term until you have inspected it in person.
Confirm your travel arrangements, making sure your visas are sorted
If you have not already, arrange short-term (or longer-term) accommodation in Bali
Insider tip: It is easy to pick up short-term accommodation in Bali, allowing you to find your feet in Bali and check out the various areas for living in. Read more about this in our Living in Bali Guide and hear more from our parents in our Living in Bali Panel discussion, which will be held in week 1 or 2 of the new school year.
Arrange airport pickup
Insider tip: You can book a school BioBus (mini bus) for a safe, reliable, fixed-price airport pickup with plenty of space for lots of luggage. Jump over to the BioBus here
Make sure you have reviewed all emails from our Admissions Team and have registered for Orientation Day
Photograph and/or make backup copies of passports and essential documents - printouts of important documents are also recommended
